Whether you're a museum junkie, history buff, shopaholic, or just like to take in the atmosphere, Vienna has something to offer everyone. So while you're here, in addition to catching up on the latest science, make sure you take some time out to enjoy some of Vienna's splendors. Links to some of the more famous attractions can be found below. For a comprehensive listing on what Vienna has to offer visit the Vienna Tourist Center.
For those interested in classical music, no visit to Vienna can be complete without taking in a concert in one of Vienna's famous music halls. Concerts are available every night of week and there are plenty of options. You will see numerous ticket sellers (dressed in traditional costumes) throughout the city. These people are sanctioned by the city and offer very reasonable prices, especially for same-day concerts. Summer also sees the free open air Film Festival outside the Rathaus. Beginning at dusk each evening the festival shows top class music, opera, and dance films. A wide variety of culinary delights can also be sampled from the numerous food stalls.
